After the frustration of what I felt I had to post this morning, here is the introductory movement to the greatest piece of music ever written (in my opinion!). If I feel grumpy, then I listen to some of this wonderful music, and reflect on what the music is about.


Scripture passages are "read" out by a tenor, then a bass sings the words of Jesus.

The whole structure of this massive work is the same as a typical Lutheran sermon. Bach was not just writing great music. He was preaching the Gospel to us.
